The Lamb's: June 2009

We left Tuesday with Mom and Steve driving. We stopped in Cedar City to eat and switch drivers. Dad and I took over and finished the drive. We got in to Vegas at rush hour and had to deal with all the traffic. I didn’t help that there was construction and in some area there was only 2 lanes. We found the Condo and checked in. Our room was on the 8th floor, it had a kitchen, a dinning room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and a balcony. That night we ate at Marilyn’s Café inside the Tuscany Hotel. It was the same restaurant that we ate at when we went down last February for Ami’s wedding. We went to the Food 4 Less that was across the street from the Condo and picked up some stuff. We went back to the Condo and got ready for bed. We woke up on Wednesday and parked at the MGM and wandered around trying to find something to eat. We ended up at the eatery on the strip. We found out that the Venetian was a ways down the strip so we bought tickets for the Double Decker Bus so it could take us down to the Venetian Hotel. We wondered through the hotel and my dad went to the Oxygen Bar because he wasn’t feeling well. They had added on the Palazzo Hotel on to the Venetian so we walked over there to look at it. We then walked in to the Treasure Island hotel. Then walked over to the Mirage and went to look at the dolphins and the other animals. They were so cute I wanted to touch the dolphins but they didn’t get close enough to touch them. I probably would have gotten in trouble if I touched them. We went to look at the Lions and tigers next. The lions were huge and were asleep at first but woke up and were walking around. The leopards were also asleep. The tigers were tired and just were lying around. I was hoping that they would do something besides just sit there. After we tried to get back on the Double Decker Bus we stood there in line for about 10-20 minutes. The bus finally showed up and we tried to get on the bus. Mom and dad would have made it and possibly Justina and Steve. But John and I went from being right behind mom and them at the front of the line to being pushed out of the way to the back of the line and would never had made it on the bus. Mom and them all gave up trying to push there way on we just walked back to the MGM. It was about 6 when we made it back to the Condo. We wanted to go see the show at Treasure Island and to see the Volcano at the Mirage but dad was tired and wasn’t feeling well so we never made it back. We ended up going to Applebee’s for dinner. After dinner we went to Dunkin Donuts and got some donuts. It was late and they were closing so we didn’t have much choice to choose from but they did give us free mini donuts with some kind of jelly filling. We went back and went to sleep while we were sleeping Dad was up not feeling good. When we woke up he was so sick he couldn’t stop throwing up. Justina, Steve, John, and I ran over to the Food 4 Less across the street to grab some stuff for dad. He wasn’t getting any better so Mom ended up taking him to the hospital. That is where they spent most of the day. We called Pizza Hut and had them deliver pizza to the condo. I was washing clothes in the laundry room but it was taking forever. We were just sitting there waiting for the wash to get done. John was sitting there texting people. He got up and was walking toward the sliding glass door leading to the balcony he wasn’t watching where he was going and he ended up walking right in to the sliding glass door. It was so loud and he bounced off. He had this big bump on his forehead and it was bleeding a little. It was so funny. After that the clothes were done so we decided to go swimming at the pool. John had wanted to go. We got down to the pool but didn’t stay there long. We got in the main part with the waterfall. We then went over to the pool with the water slides so John and Steve could go down. I was going to go down until I saw people shooting out of the slide. John didn’t like it because you go really fast then fly out. Steve said it was fun but it did go fast and it was pitch black in there. Every time Steve came out all you could see was his feet. We went and sat in one of the 5 hot tubes for a while then got out and got back in the pool for like 5 seconds. We then sat out to dry off for a while. We went back up to the condo to get showered and cleaned up. Mom and dad finally got back after being at the hospital for like 5 hours. We then went and got something to eat. We didn’t know where to go that had soup so we just went back to Marilyn’s Café. Once back at the condo we packed everything and made sure that we were ready to leave in the morning. We had to be checked out by 10. We then went to sleep since we had to wake up early. We woke up at 9 and started loading the car. We made sure that we had everything before checking out. We ended up at the Luxor Hotel. We wondered around a little bit and then went and ate at the café there. We then hit the road and headed home mom and Steve started the drive. John had to pee so we stopped in Mesquite. The next stop we made was to get gas and eat something in Beaver. That was when I took over driving dad would have taking over for Steve but he still wasn’t feeling well. It took a while but we finally made it home. We unpacked everything and Jordan and Quintin showed up. John went with them to Jordan’s then they showed up at the house again. I then took them up to Quintin’s house. I got a text about an hour later from John. He wanted me to go get him and Jordan. I got up there and Jordan came down the stairs but I didn’t see John. Jordan opened the door and told me that John was throwing up. John came down and ended up throwing up by their mailbox. John wasn’t feeling any better so my dad took him to the hospital where they were at till 4. When I woke up I found out that Steve took Justina to the hospital because she was throwing up. He asked me if I would go up and get here while he was at work. So I went up and picked her up. All Saturday Justina, John, and Dad have been lying around sleeping. Steve came down after work and was feeling just fine. Then around 1 am Steve and I both started getting sick. I got a fever and ended up in the hospital Sunday night. Around that time mom started getting sick. Monday we spent the day just lying around. We are all feeling better now. It was an interesting vacation. I want to go back and see more hotels when I have more time and when no one is sick.
